Uber Without Smartphone – Uber now offers services to motorists from and to Albany International Airport. Chairman of the Albany Regency Airport Authority, Rev. Kenneth Doyle announced on Monday that Uber had signed the Albania Airport Authority Operating Permit.
Uber began serving travelers at Albany International Airport on Monday, joining fellow arrears sharing company Lyft, which has been operating there since summer 2017. Uber’s operating permit will allow the driver to drop passengers on the roadside in front of the terminal and pick up roadside passengers near the exit terminal baggage claim.

Uber drivers and their vehicles will be able to wait at the Airport property, near the terminal.
“The addition of Uber will provide new transportation options to and from the airport for nearly 3 million tourists passing through Albany International Airport every year,” Doyle said in a press release.
“We are pleased that drivers in the Capital Region will now be able to use our application to access convenient and reliable transportation at Albany International Airport, and we hope to work with Rev. Doyle and airport staff,” added Brian Hughes, general manager for Uber in New York.
Uber passengers can secure travel using the company application on their smartphone. Their rates are automatically calculated and charged to the payment method connected to their Uber account.
Under the Uber Airport Operating Permit, the airport will receive $ 2 each time the Uber driver drops passengers at the airport and two dollars each time the Uber driver picks up passengers at the airport.
In addition, similar to other Operational Authorities that used the permission of the Albanian Airport Authority, Uber agreed to monitor third parties as Airport Operations.
